Medicine
We offer a 6-year-medical programme conducted either in Polish or in English. Before completing the OLA make sure you got acquainted with the programme of study given on the university web page. You can mix courses of different years, as they are conducted in blocks (e.g. 3 weeks of Surgery, 3 weeks of Neurology, etc.), but make sure you choose the ones available in the semester you are applying for.
Since students of the exchange programs join the study groups of our domestic students, the number of available places per course is limited. The study offer is based on the program of the previous academic year. Therefore, your individual study plan will be defined at the beginning of semester, as soon as new timetables are available.
Important:
- If you are applying only for one semester, you cannot choose courses that last for the whole year (i.e. Pathomorphology, Microbiology, Pharmacology)
- To receive full credit and a grade, students are obliged to fulfill the requirements (including final exams) stated in the Rules of Studies of the Medical University of Warsaw.
- Due to the clinics' commitment in the didactic process, additional clerkships/clinical rotations/traineeships/vocational training are impossible during the whole academic year. They may only be offered exceptionally as a substitute of a non-available course.
- In addition to the Learning Agreeemnt, after being accepted, each exchange student is asked to create his/her individual timetable where selects courses for each semester separately. It is the 3rd step of the application. The individual timetable of the medical students is prepared according to the English Division Medical Faculty timetables which are published before beginning of the semester. Some modifications of the learning agreement caused by overlaps, unavailability of courses, timetable conflicts etc. may be required. In this case the student has to consult the coordinator of home university regarding necessary Changes to Learning Agreement. The final approval of the plan of study is made based on acceptance/refusal of the department responsible for teaching.
- Having considered the number of students some courses might not be available to exchange students.
- Last, but not least, exchange students are more than welcome to join medical classes in Polish (provided they have a sufficient command o Polish language)
APPLICATION DEADLINES:
15th May - First semester and full academic year
25th November - Second semester
ACCOMMODATION: Double rooms at the university dorm with a private bathroom are offered to exchange students. You can apply for your place via the on-line Application form. No additional forms will be needed. The places will be assigned according to the "first come, first served" rule. If you are on the waiting list, you will be informed as soon as any place becomes available for you. The information on the list of accepted students will be sent together with acceptances.
