Compulsory insurance during the mobility

MANDATORY INSURANCE DURING MOBILITY

During their stay on the Erasmus + scholarship, students / doctoral students are required to have insurance against medical expenses and accident insurance (NNW). In the case of internships, you should also purchase civil liability insurance (OC). The host institution, in addition to the standard health insurance, may require specialist insurance (information is included in the Agreement on the internship program). If the company does not provide adequate insurance, the mobility participant should take care of having it on his own (e.g. individual policy).

Basic protection is provided by the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), which provides access to health care in the country of residence (EU / EFTA) as a citizen of that country and is issued free of charge by the provincial branches of the National Health Fund. The EHIC card entitles you to use care in other countries only of those facilities that operate within the framework of the general health care system.

Detailed rules of insurance in individual countries are available on the website of the National Health Fund. Students from European Union countries going on a scholarship are required to have the European Health Insurance Card, EHIC for short, which confirms that they are insured in Poland and covers the costs of treatment abroad.

More information about the card on the website of the National Health Fund.

Health insurance is not the same as accident insurance (NNW). By leaving under the Erasmus + program, the student undertakes to have appropriate insurance, including accident insurance. That is why it is so important to complete this formality. Accident insurance is available in the scope of e.g. Euro 26 card or ISIC card. You can also buy an individual policy at any insurance company.
